Research project

A researcher at Auckland University is seeking practising social workers with prior criminal convictions for a research project examining their experiences in the social work profession.

The project will explore the barriers they have faced and determine the assets and strengths they have brought to the social work profession.

Participation in this research will involve one interview which will be carried out in person (available for Auckland-based participants), or via video conferencing.

This interview will take between one and two hours and you will be asked a range of questions about your experience relating to your criminal conviction/s and the impacts on your career pathway.

Questions you will be asked are designed to explore the barriers you have faced and also the strengths and assets you have bought to the profession.

Participation in this study is voluntary and without remuneration.

If you are interested in this study and would like more information in order to make an informed decision, please email researcher Suzette Jackson sjac455@aucklanduni.ac.nz. All communication will be treated confidentially.
