The implementation of mandatory registration of social workers in Aotearoa, New Zealand was marked by an event held in Wellington at Te Wharewaka.
It took place on March 16th which was World Social Work Day.
Minister Carmel Sepuloni gave the keynote speech noting how social workers are part of a vital workforce and why mandatory registration is important.
Other speakers included the SWRB Board Chair Shannon Pakura; ANZASW President Sharyn Roberts; TWSWA Kahui representative Robyn Corrigan; National MP Louise Upston and former Minister Steve Maharey.
