The Social Worker Workforce Insights Report 2024 brings together data from across the social worker workforce to paint a clear picture of the pressures facing the profession.
With more social workers leaving than entering, falling student numbers, and an ageing workforce, the evidence points to a workforce sustainability challenge that requires coordinated action across government, employers, and the education sector.
This report marks an important step in the SWRB’s role as lead agency for workforce planning – moving from building the evidence base to using it to drive real change. We are now working across the sector to develop the first workforce strategy.
