The Social Workers Registration Board provides assurance to the public around registered social workers. As a Crown-owned entity, we protect the safety of members of the public by ensuring social workers are accountable, competent and safe to practise, and act to enhance the professionalism of social workers. Our vision is to ensure social workers enable the mauri ora of our communities, whānau and individuals.
The Principal/ Senior Policy Advisor roles (2) are newly created positions that will lead the development of policy work on the scope of social work practice, competence, and education of social workers.
You will be an experienced policy practitioner used to engaging effectively with a wide range of people, in a wide range of positions. You will be self-aware and experienced in managing work that may be problematic or ambiguous.
Experience in mentoring staff is also desired, as is an ability to think strategically about your work. Experience gained from working in a regulatory environment would be beneficial but not essential. You will be end-user focused and enjoy working in a smaller team setting. Finally, we are looking for people who are committed to their professional growth and development.
This will be a fixed-term position for 18 months and we are open to considering secondments. This is a great opportunity to make your contribution and to take ownership of this important function.
